I’ve done my fair share of research and I’ve always found the best options on Booking.com and TripAdvisor. I have not tried Airbnb yet, although I have friends who rave about the site and I hope to try it out in the near future. I always spend time reading the reviews and looking at images of the properties. Most importantly, make sure you read about the wifi availability and location! I’ve found that it is sometimes important to stay near the local train station so you can avoid hauling luggage through major cities and fighting cobblestone streets in Europe!

Camera + Equipment

I get a lot of questions about what type of camera and equipment gets packed when I travel. I wouldn’t go anywhere without my Canon 5D Mark III because it not only captures beautiful images but it also has high quality video capabilities. I’ve been shooting photography for over 7 years now and this is the perfect option for someone with a little more experience. If you’re looking for an intermediate option, I suggest the Canon 70D and if you’re on a budget but still want great quality images, I recommend the Canon Rebel T5. I try to pack lightly when I’m traveling, so I only usually take 2 lenses with me. I try to aim for packing a wide angle and a portrait lens. I also love packing this little pancake lens when I’m very limited to space in my suitcase!
