Visiting Verona had always been on my bucket list and I finally got to set foot in the City of Love just a few months ago. Thanks to Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, Verona is one of Italy’s most visited cities and now I can see why! We caught a train from Milan and arrived to Verona in no time. The train ride from Milan Centrale Station to Verona Porta Nuova is just under 2 hours. We found a great hotel that was easily accessible from the train station. It was about a 10 minute walk from the train station to our hotel (with luggage.)
We stayed at Grand Hotel Verona and we booked our rooms here. This hotel was perfect for our 3 night stay and was only about 5 minutes from the historic center! The location made it very convenient for us to walk back to the hotel when we wanted to change or relax and then walk back to Piazza Bra for dinner. The rooms were very clean and spacious! The breakfast spread was pretty amazing and also included in our rate. I would definitely stay at Grand Hotel Verona again!
We stayed in Verona for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time exploring the charming City of Love. Here are my top 5 recommendations for things to do in Verona:
• Visit Piazza Bra and Piazza delle Erbe (great places to sip on some Italian wine and soak in the night life!)
• Check out the views from Ponte Pietra and hop on the sightseeing bus for a ride back to the historic center.
• Visit Casa di Giulietta (tour the house and step out on the famous balcony for a great view and photo opp!)
• Spend an evening at the opera. Arena di Verona is located in Piazza Bra and is a MUST!
• Venice is only 1 hour away. Consider hopping on a high speed train and spending a day in the city of canals!

I love all of your pictures. And I love you too. I get to see you and Nick and one of our favorite cities. I’m so happy that you fell in love with Verona too.
